PetGearLabs Editorial Process

Our Editorial Process

PetGearLabs publishes practical buying guides for dog gear and everyday care routines. We focus on what a reader can verify before purchase: measurements, materials, adjustment ranges, care requirements, safe setup, and the limits of a product claim.

How we evaluate a guide

We start with the use case and the individual dog rather than a product ranking. For example, a harness guide should explain how to measure the chest, check shoulder movement, and test fit; a bed guide should distinguish outside dimensions from usable sleep space and explain cleaning requirements.

We do not claim to have physically tested a product unless the page says exactly what was tested and how. Product listings, maker specifications, and retailer pages can change, so readers should confirm current details, fit guidance, and return terms before purchase.

Health and safety boundaries

Dog gear is not medical treatment. When a topic involves pain, mobility changes, respiratory distress, heat illness, skin problems, or other health concerns, our guides direct readers to a veterinarian rather than making a product-based promise.

Some links may be affiliate links, which can earn PetGearLabs a commission without changing the reader’s price. Affiliate relationships do not determine a product’s inclusion or claim. We remove or revise pages that rely on unsupported product claims, inaccurate metadata, or outdated information.

If you find an error, contact us through the site’s published contact channel with the page URL and the supporting information.

Disclosure: PetGearLabs may earn a commission from qualifying purchases made through links on this page. This does not change the price you pay.
